When is the Right Time for Newborn Photography?
A common question I receive from parents is timing: When is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot? Traditionally, newborn photography is often done when the baby is between one and three weeks old. During this time, babies are still in that sleepy, curled-up stage, which can make for beautiful photos of their early days.
However, I understand that this window doesn’t always work for everyone. Every birth and every family’s journey is different, and the first few weeks can be a whirlwind. Sometimes, you need more time to settle into your new rhythm, and that’s okay! The right time to capture these early memories is when you feel ready, relaxed, and comfortable. It might be two weeks, or it might be a little later. What matters most is the love and bond between you and your baby shines through. It also gives your newborn more chances to keep eyes open, so again, time is what is right for YOU!
